I was trained and licensed in Key West , Florida in 1993. I obtained the National License for Massage, and have completed required, yearly continuing education units. This education (and more), along with my life's interest in health and fitness, formulates my eclectic style of Body Work. In December of 1999 I moved and transferred my license to Tennessee. Since then I've married my best friend, he has become a licensed Minister, and we have a lovely daughter. My massage has been described as "artistic" and "the strength of a man, yet the touch of a woman". My initial approach to each massage begins with the same uncompromising professionalism. (That was a mouthful!) However, every session has the possibility of being quite different; as each client, at each appointment, may have different needs. A brief conversation serves as an introduction to each session (which leads me in the direction of my work). I tend to begin each massage as I would begin any workout or exercise program; warming up the muscles/skin by using a variety of techniques until it's "time" to continue. By using long luxurious strokes, with the weight and strength of my body, your body will "open up" at it's own pace. I can then use specific stretching and/or specific massage techniques to suite your needs and expectations. The ambiance of Jo's Body Shop has quite the relaxing vibe. The outside building is unassuming, but "it's what's inside that counts". It's Massage Therapy with the intention of helping to enhance your life.
Each client will fill out an information form (any minor will have a guardian's signed consent). You can print the form and complete it and bring to your first session. Any
contraindications (reasons why you should not have a massage) will be
noted and discussed. A letter of release may be required for certain conditions;
i.e. pregnancy. To
avoid full payment of a missed appointment, please call 24 hours in advance
to reschedule. Sessions are by appointment only. Cash or checks accepted. Jo's
